Hello, Lady, 芋頭 is called as "Taro" here & are widely grown in Mexico, which is not far from California. We can buy them from both the Main Stream American supermarkets or the Asian supermarket. Taro usually are sold for US$ 0.75/ per lb.
According to, so many cook books which I have read thru, the authors always suggested to "Deep Fry" the Taro first before they are used for pot cooking or steaming. At our old age now, the seniors should avoid to intake too much "Deep Fried" food & should switch to steaming method. Correct?
The temperature is only 4 * C here now. I need to turn on my room heater to keep my body warm.
